Peculiarity of the ligament requires relatively long soaking in clean, cold water.

The time is determined by the presence of air bubbles given after immersion, and is at least 10 minutes.

Despite the long preparation for work & less aggressive metal harvesting, these features can not be considered as a disadvantage.

For example, the back side of a long soaking is ability to maintain enough moisture inside, which reduces impurity & does not require frequent moistening during sharpening.

Noticeable loss in productivity against, the Professional CHOSERA series stones, is partially offset by good resistance to wear due to hardness.

With a tool such as Naniwa Traditional Stones, it is best to start mastering the manual blade sharpening.

Process will go slower, but it will give more practice and understanding, more affordable, and will not be painful for your wallet.
