Paulownia wood belongs to valuable wood species, especially in our area.
In the east, in Japan and China, such a tree is a common material for expensive kitchen boards.
Paulownia (Japanese cypress, ginko, zelkova) has a very low weight, about four times lighter than oak.
It does not absorb water, including odors and juices from products, does not swell in a humid environment.
The silica content in wood prevents the reproduction of microorganisms, and boards are very hygienic.
For its weight, it has a rather high strength and, accordingly, wear resistance.
Sparingly interacts with edge of knife, and we are well aware that a knife is firstly blunted upon cutting board.
Due to to this set of properties, paulownia is often used in aviation, shipbuilding, making musical instruments and expensive furniture,
as well as for making probably the best in the world of kitchen boards, intended for cutting food products, and traditional saya sheath, for kitchen knives.
Between use, it is important to keep clean and dry.
